First cryomodule moves into NML
The first SCRF cryomodule was transported from the Industrial Center Building (ICB) to the New Muon Lab (NML) Test Facility on 6th August 2008.
Many were involved in the move of the cryomodule from Fermilab's Cryomodule Assembly Facility (CAF) to NML and even more watched it getting lowered into the test cave. The move went extremely well, thanks to all of those involved from TD and AD. Mike McGee, Fermilab's expert on cryomodule transport and vibration studies, planned and directed the move.

The first cryomodule on its way into the NML hall at Fermilab....

.... on the hook....

... and inside the test accelerator area
This is a significant milestone in the NML project, as it is the first (and most important) component to be installed in the test accelerator and it brings the facility one step closer to becoming operational.
