3.9 GHz/Third Harmonic module delivered to DESY
The 3.9 GHz/Third Harmonic module built at Fermilab for the free-electron laser(FLASH) was delivered to DESY on 28th April, 2009. The long trip by road, air, road again and finally crane to its new home at DESY, went extremely well. There were no large excursions measured on the vibration monitors/shock logs.

The modules will now be dressed with couplers and then put into the FLASH linear accelerator during a major upgrade this autumn. The 'third harmonic' module is one of Fermilab's contributions to the TESLA Technology Collaboration that built FLASH as a test facility for superconducting radiofrequency technology. Thanks to all involved in this next successful step - a testament to Fermilab's growing capabilities in SRF and collaboration with international organizations.

The coming weeks will see more Fermilab people stationed at DESY, preparing for vacuum leak checking and pumpdown, alignment check, input coupler installation, instrumentation checkout, etc.
