AES2 reaches 32.6 MV/m in testing at Jefferson Lab on November 21st , 2007

It is a pleasure for me to announce the final result of the latest AES2 test, following the 4th light EP. The highest accelerating gradient is 32.6 MV/m and quench is the limit. There was some cable heating at higher gradient and the measured Q has somehow a larger error - the actual low field Q is 1.8E10. It is encouraging to see the continued gradient improvement with more material removal. This is consistent with the hypothesis of material defect we made earlier based on the pass-band results. It seems to be worthwhile to give this cavity another light EP and re-test.
