Fermilab is located about 40 miles from Chicago O'Hare International
Airport and Midway Airports. All else being equal, flying into O'Hare
is ten minutes closer and it is ten dollars less expensive to get to
Fermilab by limosine from O'Hare.
(Due to fluctuations in traffic and variations in security lines
at airports, travellers concerned with missing flights should allow
for an additional 90 minutes for traffic and security lines.)
There will, during the conference, be construction delays on the road to
O'Hare airport. Attendees scheduling their return flight are advised
to schedule later flights, to allow for an additional hour due to
possible traffic tie-ups.

Arriving By Airplane
|
Transportation from and to O'Hare or Midway Airport is available by
limousine, taxi, or car rental.
There is no public transportation to Fermilab,
and taxi service is costly.
You are strongly encouraged to
arrange for a limosine to the
conference hotel.
There is free
transportation between the conference hotel and Fermilab.
An alternative is to rent a car.

Unless one chooses to rent a car, it is both more comfortable and
less expensive to take a limosine (rather than a taxi) from either
Chicago airport to Fermilab.

Shuttle-bus service will be provided from and to the
Pheasant Run
meeting hotel each morning and evening of the meeting.

From the Airport to the Meeting Hotel
|
To get from Chicago's O'Hare airport to the Pheasant Run meeting hotel,
Take I-90 West to Route 59 South.
Exit south on Route 59 and continue to North Avenue (Route 64).
Turn right (west) on North Avenue.
The hotel is located 3 miles west of Route 59 on North Avenue (Route 64) on the south side of the street.
To get from Chicago's Midway airport to the Pheasant Run meeting hotel,
Take Cicero Avenue North to I-55 South.
Get on I-55 South and continue to I-355 North.
Exit onto I-355 North and continue to I-88 West.
Exit onto I-88 West and continue to Farnsworth (Kirk) North.
Exit north on Farnsworth (Kirk) and continue to North Avenue (Route 64).
Turn right (east) on North Avenue and continue approximately 1 mile.
The hotel is located on the south side of the street.
